First of all, I liked his example of the Numa Numa dance. That was so funny. I think it does demonstrate how effective You Tube is in spreading popular culture. So many people uploaded their own videos of the dance. I also liked his explanation of how popular his own video became, even on Super Bowl Sunday when there were the famous commercials that were so popular. I think this really demonstrates that videos created and uploaded to the internet can be more popular and more interesting than commercials that are produced and cost thousands of dollars.
He goes on to talk about the age groups that upload videos to You Tube. Right now the young adults ages 18-34 are the most popular age group using this application, but I think that demographic may shift over time considering that this age group will continue to be comfortable with this technology and will continue to use it as they get older. Since the younger generations are growing up with Web 2.0 I think they will carry it with them later in life. People also connecting through YouTube. He showed many videos of people who were posting really deep videos. I think this is interesting because some people may feel it is easier to post those thoughts on a video than to say it to someone face to face. I just never really watched many videos on You Tube until now and there is some interesting videos out there. I don't know that I would ever post something that personal, but I think that is good for some people.
